Peek-a-Boo Review 18524e
Note: Microgaming has both a 3-reel and 5-reel slot game titled Peek-a-Boo. This review will focus on the 3-reel game 3o3qa
It’s always interesting to see the many ways that Microgaming is able to develop interesting and unique 3-reel slots with such a limited format to work with. With the game Peek-a-Boo, the company’s game developers have been able to infuse a couple of interesting features that make this a game worth considering.
As could be predicted, this game comes with a wonderfully cute take on ghosts and the way kids interact with them. In this case, the primary characters include a freaky looking ghost that reminds one of the Ghostbusters symbol and a cute little goggled boy, who is ready for a fight with his Ghostbusters style bubble gun. The graphics include brilliant caricatures in bright colors against a purple background.
The game is played with 3-reels and 5 pay lines, which is kind of unique for a classic slots game. The game’s minimum bet is $.05 per line up to a maximum bet of $5.00 per line. If the player uses all five pay lines, they are looking at an investment range of $.25 per spin up to $25.00 per spin with a lucrative maximum pay out of $30,000. Peek-a-Boo comes with six basic symbols. The low-paying symbols are represented by the requisite bars (1, 2 and 3), the ghost and our hero, the little boy. The game’s wild symbol is represented by the green ”boo,” which subs for all other symbols in any position.
The primary objective in Peek-a-Boo is to land the wild symbols. The big payouts come when the player is able to land wild symbols across an entire pay line. If the player is lucky enough to land wilds in all nine cells at the same time, they hit the big jackpot of 6000X the original bet up to the aforementioned game maximum of $30,000.
Verdict: While Peek-a-Boo lacks some of the extra features (nudges, holds an bonus games) that Microgaming is known to include in many of its 3-reel slots, the game is still worth the time and effort given the potential size of its largest payouts. The game should be considered low-risk, considering the size of the minimum bet and the potential rewards. While the player is waiting for a big score, the game is pleasant enough from a visual standpoint. A player could do far worst than Peek-a-Boo.
