City of Gold Review 6t5d58

In the early years (2005-2007) of online casino gaming, software developers like Microgaming were looking to get a foothold in the industry. Even with limited competition, software developers were often restricted by the tools of the trade. With that in mind, it easier to understand why Microgaming was fixated on churning out classic slot games with a variety of themes, but limited game action. 5n1dq

City of Gold was one of the company's earlier endeavors. The game features an Aztec style city built of gold. While the game comes with very limited options, it's good to see the game does provide a decent sized ultimate jackpot as a target for interested players.

City of Gold has a standard classic slot format with 3 reels and 1 pay line. Players can choose to play one or two coins per spin with a coin value ranging from $.25 to $5.00 on the upper end. That calculates out to a maximum betting range of $.25, up to a maximum of $10.00. When applied to the game's largest jackpot of 1,600 coins, the maximum possible winnings on one spin works out to a respectable $8,000.

The game is built around standard fruit machine symbols. With the applicable multipliers attached, the game's symbols stack up as follows with 2 coins wagered: any one watermelon - 4X, any bar - 6X, any two watermelons - 10X, three single bars - 20X, three watermelons - 40X, three double bars - 50X, three triple bars - 100X, three 7s - 200X and three pots of gold - 1600X. The pot of gold stands as the game's wild symbol. Any winning spin that includes one wild symbol gets doubled, and any winning spin that includes two wild symbols results in a 4X multiplier.

Verdict: With so many other available options, players will probably shy away from this game unless they want to take a low risk shot at a decent jackpot. Assuming that the jackpot is difficult to hit, its hard to imagine experiences slot players sticking around for very long based on the lower payouts offered on the low paying symbols.

Even the audio component of this game is ordinary with the typical sounds of reels spinning and coins falling into a tin pan. No one could blame slot beginners for using this game as a training ground before they move onto some of the magnificent 5 reel video slots offered on Microgaming powered sites.
